Subject: RE: The problem of too many
I think Bill Moses is right on in his letter to the editor. The problems the planet is experiencing right now are directly related to the problem of too many humans taking over and upsetting natural systems.
However, he is wrong in accepting that Canada needs to bring in 100,000 immigrants per year. Why are we not instead questioning our out-dated economic system that insists we cannot prosper without growth?
Why are we not discussing steady-state economics and/or focussing on ways to allow populations to naturally gradually decrease? World population of humans has doubled twice since I was born!
